Last week I realized that thanks to an amazing support structure and some very dedicated people in my life that I could push myself further than what I ever thought was possible. Last week I swam a lifetime best time and I won a silver medal at the World Championship event in Italy. None of that would have been possible had I not had the right people pushing me in the right direction.

My wife and coach have been the driving force behind it all. Had you asked me two years ago if I would be swimming competitively again, I would have said no ways!

If you had asked me if I would go to a World Championship I would have said you were dreaming.

If you asked me if I thought I could win a medal at a World Championship, I would have said you were nuts!

But, between my wife and my coach they got me back in the pool, they saw something that I didn’t. They made me believe in something that at one stage I didn’t think was possible. They pushed me over the edge, I went down the “rabbit hole” with nothing to lose and have gone a lot further than what I had ever previously thought was possible!

This picture is the perfect description of the process I went through. It can be applied in many ways and in many different aspects of your life.

Thanks to Nes and Bren for getting me back in the water and chasing that dream and seeing just how far I could go… But, we are not at the end just yet…
